Old Montreal & Jean-Drapeau
Cycle the Lachine Canal from Ma Bicyclette to Old Montreal along a recreational path and take in Montreal’s history dating back to 17th century. Some of the sites to take in include: Place Jacques Cartier, Pointe-a-Calliere museum, Habitat ’67, Notre-Dame basilica, Science Center, Bonsecours market, Montreal’s Old Port, remnants of Montreal’s fortifications, Place d’Youville, the cobblestone streets of Montreal’s oldest street – Saint-Paul.
Follow the dedicated bike path that runs from Ma Bicyclette, or opt for the St. Lawrence Seaway to get over to the two islands that make up our beloved Jean-Drapeau Park: Saint Helen’s Island and Notre-Dame Island. Cycle a few high speed laps around the Formula 1 race track – Circuit Gilles Villeneuve track, take in the Biosphere, the Jean-Dore beach, La Ronde Amusement park or the Aquatic Complex swimming pool. Be sure to ride over the impressive Jacques-Cartier bridge or the Concorde bridge to take in the magnificence of the Saint-Lawrence River.
